What is the Top Gun Shoot-off and how do I get into it on Sunday?

This is a head to head competition utilizing knockdown targets on three berms. Each shooter starts on an outside berm. Once they have knocked down all 10 targets using their rifle and a pistol, they run to the common berm in the middle and shoot 11 more knockdowns, using a pistol and their shotgun. The last knockdown is a crossover popper and the first shooter to get their crossover popper down moves on to the next round. All other knockdown targets must fall first and the shooter can reload any gun as necessary to complete the course of fire.

The Top 32 Overall Main Match Shooters are invited to be in the shoot-off on Sunday at High Noon.

(If someone qualifies for, but chooses not to participate, the next shooter in line by overall finish will move up to that spot, and so on, until 32 top finishing competitors are assembled. ONLY those shooters that actually participate and compete in the SOLE SURVIVOR SHOOT-OFF of the TOP 32 will be awarded a SOLE SURVIVOR BADGE PIN.)

During the intermission period of the Sole Survivor Shoot-Off, we will be conducting two additional shoot-offs for Juniors and Ladies.

JUNIOR shooters that wish to participate and are not part of the TOP 32 SOLE SURVIVOR SHOOT OFF will compete against each other until we a have the LAST JUNIOR STANDING.

The top 8 Ladies, who are not part of the TOP 32 SOLE SURVIVOR SHOOT OFF are invited to compete against each other until we have the LAST LADY STANDING.

Awards will be given to: The Sole Survivor, Last Junior Standing, and Last Lady Standing.

Is there anything else I need to know?

Please dress cowboy/girl for all events. You may wish to dress up in your best cowboy duds and cowgirl dresses for a formal ball on Saturday night. We will have professional photographers at all events to preserve the memories of all your fun times at The Last Stand 2009.

Any round over the berm constitutes a Match DQ. You may not lever your rifle or cock your pistol until the gun is pointed safely downrange at the berm. Scoring will be by total time, not rank points. The round count for the main match will be approximately 100 rifle, 100 pistol, and 50 shotgun. Side matches will include speed rifle, speed pistol, speed shotgun, pocket pistol, derringer, .22 rifle and pistol, long range rifle, and whatever else we can dream up. Round count for the side matches will be however much you can haul in your vehicle.

We look forward to seeing you and shooting with you at the Last Stand 2009. Again, please check back and stay posted for any additional information that may become available as the event draws near.
